Clinical nephrology and
kidney care in Amravati.
Kidney-focused consultations with Dr. Rajendrasingh P. Rajput, MBBS, MD (General Medicine), with a Fellowship in Clinical Nephrology: from an abnormal report to the ongoing care of chronic kidney disease.
What clinical nephrology covers
Nephrology is the medical specialty for kidney disease and its causes. Clinical nephrology is its non-surgical side: understanding what your reports mean, treating with medicines and monitoring, and protecting kidney function over time. Consultations at the clinic commonly cover:
- Raised creatinine, low eGFR or other abnormal kidney function tests
- Protein or blood in the urine
- Chronic kidney disease (CKD): diagnosis, staging and ongoing follow-up
- Kidney care in diabetes and high blood pressure
- Swelling of the feet, face or body
- Recurrent urinary infections and kidney stones (medical evaluation)
- Electrolyte concerns such as sodium or potassium levels
- Medicines that affect the kidneys and dose adjustment
- Second opinions on kidney reports and treatment plans
Why kidney health matters early
Kidney disease is often silent in its early stages, and many people first learn of it through a routine blood or urine test. Diabetes and high blood pressure are its most common causes. Regular checks, good control of these conditions and early attention to abnormal results can slow the loss of kidney function.
Sudden severe swelling, very little urine, or breathlessness with a known kidney condition need urgent attention. Please go to the nearest emergency department.
What to expect at your visit
Bring your kidney function tests, urine reports, recent blood pressure readings and a list of every medicine you take, including supplements. The consultation covers what your results mean, whether further tests are needed, and a plan for protecting your kidneys. Consultations are outpatient visits; where hospital-based treatment is needed, it is discussed and planned with you.
Because Dr. Rajput is also trained in general medicine, related conditions such as diabetes and blood pressure can be managed together rather than across separate clinics.

What does a Fellowship in Clinical Nephrology mean?
It is further training, taken after MBBS and MD (General Medicine), focused on the medical (non-surgical) care of kidney disease: interpreting kidney tests and treating and monitoring conditions such as chronic kidney disease.
My creatinine is slightly high. Should I see a nephrologist?
A single mildly raised value can have many causes, including dehydration or certain medicines. A consultation looks at the result alongside your urine test, blood pressure and history, so that it is interpreted rather than guessed at.
Can diabetes or high blood pressure affect my kidneys?
Yes. They are the two most common causes of chronic kidney disease. People with either condition are generally advised to have kidney function and urine protein checked regularly and to keep sugar and blood pressure well controlled.
